Sonny Jane Wise is a fiercely authentic neurodivergent, queer and disabled keynote speaker, author and advocate who has redefined what it means to lead with lived experience.

Since beginning their advocacy journey in 2018, Sonny has built a strong national and international presence, cultivating an online community of over 170,000 people, speaking at conferences, and working with schools, universities, government agencies, mental health services and businesses to challenge deficit-based narratives around neurodivergence.

Sonny is the creator of the original Neurodivergent Umbrella graphic, now widely recognised as a foundational visual tool in neurodivergent education and awareness. They are also the author of We’re All Neurodiverse and The Neurodivergent Friendly Workbook of DBT Skills - the first DBT workbook designed through a neurodiversity-affirming lens which has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide.

Diagnosed as a child, Sonny grew up surrounded by pathology-focused and deficit-driven understandings of their Autism. Their work today is deeply informed by this experience, alongside their lived experience of Autism, ADHD, BPD and more, and their background in peer support and sociology.

Through keynotes, talks, and training, Sonny supports professionals and organisations to become neurodiversity affirming, build genuine neuroinclusive spaces and critically examine neuronormativity within systems of care, education, and workplaces. Known for their insights, passion, and ability to engage audiences, Sonny’s work invites people not just to understand neurodivergence but to fundamentally rethink how difference, access, and support are understood.
